Specifically you will...

  • Manage timelines and deliverables as set out by the AOM from concept to completion
  • Establish staff schedules, task assignments, equipment allocation to ensure alignment with department objectives and goals
  • Work closely with internal and external staff and client groups (PR, Advertising, Design and Marketing, purchasing, etc) to define event goals, objectives and specific implementation plans that promote the client’s brand
  • Determine fiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations; manage and reconcile budget and events expenses
  • Organise travel and hotel accommodations for staff / companies
  • Conduct research and develop feasibility studies to identify new events opportunities for clients
  • Supervise, direct and coordinate the activities of personnel (in-house staff, models, street teams etc), subcontractors and vendors as required to successfully execute all aspects of the event before (pre-event) and on the scheduled delivery day (on-site)
  • Oversee procurement purchasing and client service needs in relation to catering, audiovisual, security and rental needs for events
  • Source venues / locations, recommend and engage catering services, acquire supporting technology and coordinate development of materials to execute a quality event
  • Maintain a calendar of events and implement a system that enables and anticipates long-term planning, and effective event management for the client’s meetings, conferences and events.
  • Develop brand, marketing labels and tools for events as required
  • Prepare events programs and create campaign briefs
  • Develop and execute all necessary follow-ups with subcontractors, vendors and client groups
  • And anything else which is thrown on your desk!

What you need...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related discipline is an asset
  • At least 5 years solid experience in Events Management is required for this position.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and project management skill
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate budgets and effectively manage expenses
  • Solid business acumen, management and problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management, organisational and leadership skills
  • A keen eye for details and accuracy
  • Experience in managing multiple projects at once and excels under pressure
  • Effective negotiating skills (hotels, event production companies and merchandise vendors)
  • Team player but can work independently when needed
  • Ability to pitch ideas effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passionate, hard-working and determined to succeed
  • Ability to travel is required
